Values

EMP-Glass delivers custom-engineered Platinum alloy systems tailored to the customer’s production needs. Each solution is designed around the specific glass application, process parameters and operational requirements in the factory.

The manufacturing of all system components, including Platinum parts, steel structures, insulation and control equipment can be realized by EMP – providing a comprehensive package that gives customers peace of mind.

Depending on the project, the system is either pre-assembled in our workshop for quality assurance or assembled directly at the customer’s site to match local installation requirements.

EMP’s product line therefore includes:

Continuous Pt Melters:

Advanced melting system that is designed for producing special glasses and glass-ceramics that require precise control of temperature, purity and homogeneity. It supports high-performance melting conditions that go beyond the limitations of traditional refractory concepts.

Gob Feeder:

Precision gob-forming solution for tableware, technical glasses and lenses. Supports stable and repeatable gob production, offering precise control over size, shape and temperature.

Special Sheet Glass Delivery Line:

Complete Platinum-based system for refining, homogenization, conditioning and feeding of non-alkali and special glasses. Integrates key process stages into one coordinated delivery concept for stable, high-quality production.

Refiner:

High-temperature refining system developed for efficient bubble removal in demanding glass applications. Optimized through simulation-based design to support stable glass-melt quality and minimize Pt-inclusions.

Drain Systems:

Electrically heated drain solution for controlled glass discharge beneath the furnace or forehearth. Provides stable, adjustable flow and can be operated conveniently via a touchscreen without manual intervention on site.

Glass Beads Production:

Tailored system for road marking and abrasive media applications. Ensures the required flow rate for single or multiple glass streams, depending on the production concept and glass properties.

Tubes and Rods Production:

Specialized solution for producing glass tubes, rods and pharmaceutical glass using Danner and Vello systems. It combines precise glass flow control with homogeneous, cord-free quality.

Feeder Heating Tube:

Electrically heated Platinum solution installed beneath the feeder spout to improve and stabilize glass temperature conditions. Helps maintain homogeneous glass and significantly reduces job change times, especially for small gobs or low pull rates.

Special fibers:

Systems for delivery and conditioning special technical glasses such as S, K and L-types for supply to single or multiple positions. Can be combined with Emp’s melter technology or as single bushing standalone system.

Simulation-driven system optimization:

EMP also offers modelling services for electrically heated Platinum systems, including simulations of Platinum components, surrounding insulation and glass flow. These capabilities can support the optimization of systems and improve the technical decision-making process in complex projects.

Company Background / History

EMP-Glass GmbH was founded in 1997 in Ilmenau, Germany, with a clear focus on electrically heated Platinum systems for the glass industry.

In 2008, Dr. Miroslav Moravsky joined the company and took over from the CEO Eberhart Schoetz. Reiner Juffa joined in the same year as managing director
Over the years, the company grew alongside its customers.

In 2014, reflecting that growth, the head office moved to Berlin to strengthen ties with customers and suppliers.

In 2023, Mojmir Moravsky joined as Managing Director, bringing a second generation of leadership into a company that had already been supplying systems to manufacturers throughout Europe, USA, and Asia.

After years of work, the numbers speak for themselves: in the last 15 years alone , more than 90 Platinum systems have been delivered, with nearly two tons of Platinum alloy engineered and installed worldwide.
